The Perfect Fit: A Lesson from Spectacle Lenses

Imagine you have two pairs of glasses. Both have lenses of the same power, so you think, “Why not take one lens from Pair 1 and use it in Pair 2?” Sounds simple, right? But when you try, it doesn’t work. Why? Because even though the lenses have the same power, they were carefully cut to fit their specific frames. The two frames are slightly different, and swapping the lenses would force a mismatch.

Now, let’s think about this in life. Sometimes, we come across opportunities, people, or situations that seem perfect for us. Everything looks aligned — our timing, goals, and even values. But when we try to make it work, something just feels off. We might wonder, “Why isn’t this working if it all looks so perfect?”

Here’s a question worth reflecting on: would your spectacles company ever intentionally give you a damaged product? Of course not. The mismatch isn’t because something is wrong with the lens or the frame — it’s because they aren’t designed to fit together. Similarly, in life, when things don’t work out, it doesn’t mean you’ve failed or that something is inherently wrong. It simply means it’s not the right fit for you, no matter how perfect it may seem.

This is where trust comes in. The universe has its own wisdom, its own way of arranging things. Every piece has a perfect place, a purpose, and a time. When…
