The Backbone of Society: Women’s Unseen Contributions

When a doctor saves a life, we revere them as a god. In this light, consider the status of a woman who faces the brink of death to give birth and create new life. Despite their invaluable contributions to society, women often face unwarranted blame and criticism. In many cultures, a man’s accusing finger frequently targets a woman.

Women encounter various pressures that force them to leave their careers, such as caring for children, elderly parents, and in-laws. They also endure uncomfortable work environments, unequal pay, and the burden of household chores. These factors compel many women to abandon their professional aspirations.

Additionally, some women suffer from domestic violence and abusive relationships. Leaving these situations is challenging, especially when children are involved. Concerns about their children’s futures often lead women to stay, sacrificing their own happiness for the sake of stability.

Despite these challenges, women continue to support their families. They cook, clean, and care for everyone, ensuring the household functions smoothly. Their hard work sustains the family and contributes to the community, even if it frequently goes unacknowledged.

Education is a key solution to these issues. By teaching boys and girls about gender equality from a young age, we can shift societal norms. Education empowers women to pursue their careers and understand their rights.

Change begins at home. It should be reflected in our thought processes, parenting, and society until it accumulates into global transformation.

Special thanks to Vidushi for reviewing the initial draft and sharing her thoughts. Her insights have been instrumental in shaping the final piece.
